Buying a home...
2 main things
First go to a lender your trust... like Glenda Musset at Arvest, 709-8800. Tell her you want to get prequalified to buy a home. Be prepared...you may need to provide your last 2 pay check stubs and last years income tax returns, etc.
Then, find your Realtor of choice. Many people don't realize that the majority of Realtors are "part-time. Make sure your Realtor is working hard for you and not distracted by another job where they can't alert you to the newest homes on the market.
Also, make sure your working with a Realtor, not just a real estate agent. A Realtor is a member of the National Association of Realtors and abides by a code of ethics to protect their clients best interests. Make sure you are working with some one you trust, whom you feel will give you honest feedback and not just say what you want to hear so they can make a commission. Real Estate is about relationships. KRG wants a relationship with you. Call us today at 479-242-4000.
Buying a home
I've heard of people buying or selling on their own, like FSBO and not had problems. But in a few cases there were major problems. A friend of mine bought a house and afetr the closing called the seller to move in and the seller said "we're not out yet"? Well, it ended up that the buyer didn't get possession of the house until 3 weeks after he paid for it. His contract from Office Depot did not cover "occupancy date"!
Good lesson to learn. Good reason to use a Realtor.
